Device WiFi Setup

Device Setup screen showing WiFi Network, WiFi Password and Device Number fields
Shown at http://192.168.4.1/setup
Where it's shown:On the device itself, at 192.168.4.1/setup. Your phone must first be connected to the device's own temporary WiFi network (e.g. Kiddies001), not your home WiFi.
Who serves it:The device's own built-in web server — no internet needed yet.

This is the very first thing a new (or freshly reset) device asks for: your home or venue WiFi details, plus a Device Number so multiple units in the same location don't clash.

What to do

Connect your phone to the device's WiFi network first, then open this page.

  • Enter your router's WiFi name (SSID) and password
  • Choose a Device Number — each device at your location needs a different one
  • Tap Save & Connect
Tip: Most phones auto-open this page as soon as you join the device's WiFi. If it doesn't, open a browser and go to 192.168.4.1/setup yourself.

Setup Complete

Setup Complete confirmation screen showing WiFi and Device name, connecting and restarting
Shown right after tapping Save & Connect
Where it's shown:Same device, same session — appears the instant you tap Save & Connect, just before the device's temporary WiFi network disappears.
Who serves it:The device itself, confirming what it just received.

Confirms the WiFi name and Device Number it captured, and lets you know it's now restarting to join your real network.

What to do

Nothing — just wait about 30–60 seconds.

  • The page auto-refreshes and then disappears — that's expected
  • Reconnect your phone to your normal home/venue WiFi (not the device's WiFi) once this finishes
Tip: The device's screen (LCD) will show a new IP address once it reconnects — you'll need that for the next step.

Claim Your Device

Claim Your Device screen with QR code, registration link, Device ID and PIN
Shown at the device's new IP address on your home network
Where it's shown:On the device again — but now at its new IP address on your home network, shown on the device's own screen. No longer at 192.168.4.1.
Who serves it:The device's own web server, now connected to the internet but not yet registered to an owner.

This is the "please register me" screen. It shows a QR code, a typed link, your Device ID, and a 4-character PIN.

What to do

Choose whichever is easiest for you:

  • Scan the QR code with your phone's camera — fastest option
  • Or type the link shown into any browser
  • Note down the Device ID and PIN — you'll need them on the next screen
Tip: No camera handy, or the device is connected to a TV/projector? Just type the link, or the Device ID + PIN, into any browser on your phone or laptop.

Registration Portal — Login

Kiddies Registration Portal login screen asking for Device ID and 4-character PIN
Shown on kiddieslearning.in's registration portal
Where it's shown:This is the first screen away from the device — reached via kiddieslearning.in → Register Device.
Who serves it:Our Web Server, not the device.

Step 1 of a short 4-step wizard (Login → Details → Verify → Done). This step confirms your device's identity before you enter your own information.

What to do

Your Device ID is usually already filled in for you.

  • Enter the 4-character PIN from Step 3
  • Tap Sign In →
Tip: Lost track of your PIN? It's shown right on the device screen in Step 3, and also printed on the label on your device as a backup.

Finishing Registration

After signing in, you'll move through three more short screens:

Details Verify Done

Simply follow the on-screen instructions and fill in all the mandatory fields as required on each screen. Once you reach Done, power off and restart your device — it will activate automatically on its next boot.
